Bob Mullen is an independent food & beverage broker equally adept at handling mass market products, unique seasonal items, and artisan confections. Bob is an account and operations leader with extensive experience in business development, marketing, strategic planning, operations management and relationship building. He’s lived and worked in New England his entire life.

Bob started in the food business in 1989 as a route sales representative for Stella D’oro Cookies. There, he cultivated trust and rapport with supermarket, convenience store, and restaurant/food service employees ranging from front line retail staff to managers and owners. As a result, his accounts enjoyed double-digit sales growth for five straight years.

In 1994, he bought a Pepperidge Farm bread distributorship. Drawing on his business acumen and deep knowledge of his distribution territory, Bob increased sales to the point that he split his territory three times in five years. Pepperidge Farm recognized his success by naming him National Distributor of the Year in 1995.

In 1999, Bob was approached to join the management team of Bestfoods Baking Company. While with the company, Bob held various management roles from district manager, account manager, and key account executive. During his tenure, the company went through multiple corporate sales to Unilever and George Weston Bakeries, Now known as BBU, it is the largest bakery in the U.S. Besides managing route operations, Bob handled the Thomas’, Entenmann’s, Arnold, and Freihoffer brands in DeMoulas Market Basket, Stop & Shop, Giant, CVS, Roche Bros., and Cumberland Farms.

In 2008, Bob joined Gold Medal Bakery, Fall River, MA. A New England-based bread, roll and english muffin private label manufacturer. In this position, he oversaw all aspects of the business from new product development and pricing, to package design, promotional strategy and analysis in order to maximize sales. Bob handled DeMoulas Market Basket, Roche Bros. Trucchi’s, Donelan’s, Seabra, Cumberland Farms and Tedeschis as well as various foodservice accounts.

Bob resides in Medford, MA. with his wife and two children.
